Love came and emptied me of self,
every vein and every pore, made into a container to be filled by the Beloved. Of me, only a name is left, the rest is You my Friend, my Beloved.

This poem beautiful and succinct summing up of the mystical experience in which all sense of self is lost in the Divine.
And there is, in fact, an awareness of being a container -- a vessel or a cup -- that receives and overflows with the "substance" of the Divine.
