from their gabling efforts
leading the dead to the dead

and even cats sleep
wound warm
atop blackened television sets

2 AM
and the empty streets hum
beneath the full moon

Witch!
Enchanter!
it is 2 AM
and I cannot sleep
your spell keeps me
awake
