Commentary by Ivan M. Granger

A delightfully brief poem that manages to hint at so much:

The "flute" here is the energetic pathway of the spine, called the shushumna in yogic terminology. This pathway is dormant in most people until a moment of profound spiritual awakening when spiritual energy rushes through it. That energy is sometimes called the breath of God. When that happens, the "flute is playing;" we are the instrument being played by God.

In this state of ecstatic bliss, there is indeed no conflict, for all opposites are resolved within yourself.

And you see clearly that all of creation, all apparent movement, is just an expression of the divine radiance that animates everything in its cosmic dance.
