The rooster crows in mid-morning,
The sun is melting the early haze. Above the new-green trees, The barn roof rises, Rust-tinged, grey-metal sheeting. Nothing moves. Man's desire is frozen in consummation. Man is God for a moment. Wanting nothing, only watching, At once alive and already dead.

Like Zen haiku, these brief verses bring the awareness to the simplicity of the natural world that is quietly alive around us. Reading these lines invites us to dive deep into the present moment. And in that moment of watching, everything is complete, fulfilled. "Man is God for a moment."
