1
Being air and formless but for hands scattering breadcrumbs, and these sparrows on the path, I wonder: who gives here, who receives? 2 Where the road deepens I lean on the bank and watch geese flying over. In this same air my thoughts pass, inside and out become one. 3 Distress, for this heart, is in my being set apart in bones and flesh: its release in my being everyone's eye, and seeing not one thing outside.
