Sing

by Fakhruddin Iraqi

English version by Peter Lamborn Wilson and Nasrollah Pourjavady
Original Language Persian/Farsi

Sing
the matchless pleasure
of gypsy girl
and beggar
     Toss
     cap from head
     fling sandals
     from feet.
So
I kick my life away
and sacrifice
my heart
     Trade
     the caravanserai
of this world and the next
     for One.
