You must be cross-eyed not to see the Real

by Baba Afzal Kashani

English version by Peter Lamborn Wilson and Nasrollah Pourjavady
Original Language Persian/Farsi

You must be cross-eyed not to see the Real
Or lack the eyes to look at Him, I feel,
To know that you, from head to toe, are HIM --
The Universal Apple, core and peel.

-- from The Drunken Universe: An Anthology of Persian Sufi Poetry, Translated by Peter Lamborn Wilson / Translated by Nasrollah Pourjavady
