I've been enjoying your poetry and blogging for several months -- but this explanation of our HopeFull President's first name was a particularly wonderful blessing. I have been seeking an image for this new political phenomenon to carry in my Divine Imagination, and now I have one: roots reaching down from the heavens, surrounding and embracing mySelf and my fellow Travellers. Thank you!

This poem is so appropriate for today.
A day of vast emotions! Never before have I felt so much emotions regarding the election of an American President. Joy, pride and optimism, beyond belief and the overwhelming presence of Gods blessings on our earth! Witnessing the acceptance speech of Barack Obama, I found myself succumb to emotions I never imagined I would feel. I can only describe it as a feeling of pride, justice, unity and oneness of spirit with all, not just all American's, but all of humanity. I have always been a patriot but never more than today, am I proud to be called an American! A daughter of a Veteran of 3 wars and 30 years of military service, a mother of a Veteran of the Iraqi war, a white, middle class American. Since childhood I have always declared my favorite president as President Lincoln, yesterday I fully understood why! God's speed, peace and blessings on President Elect Barack Obama, his family and us the American people. S
