What is right here

Continuously ask: What is right here?
What is this sensation? This emotion?
This thought? This experience?
Then ask: Who is experiencing it?

Wow Ivan,
Most apt, Most needed!
What separates art from entertainment is the role of the audient* . Art demands participation; the audient gets something initially from the work (sensation, emotion, thought, experience) and then dwells on that internally which changes hir in some way; then being a slightly different being, gets something new from the work,, which causes new inner reaction…. and the process repeats. Thus, experiencing a work of art (one that is good enough to play its role in this process) is an inner journey
guided by the artist, through new places in your mind/heart/soul.
One’s awareness expands, one’s mind is activated.
Entertainment does not require such participation, but is experienced in more or less a flat-lined state. One’s awareness shrinks, one’s mind is less active. One is a receiver, not a participant.
What makes an artist great is hir ability to sustain this process indefinitely. S/he does it by first knowing the deep places inside hirself, and then having the skill to guide others there.
*(not my word, but I think it’s an apt word to describe a person who is experiencing a work of art or entertainment.)
When I get in that situation I often I ask myself, What is wrong with this picture other than I am in it? I often try to figure out what energy I am putting out in order to create the reality that I am in. Then i say hmmm (analize, analize). Then I think I should look at that wave function that I am eminating. Once I figure it out I have a good laugh and say God you tricked me again. Now where did you slip off to? Eternity is such a large canvas on which to create your desires. Paint often and paint playfully. You are the art, the artist and critic. Love, Lover and Beloved. You created this reality enjoy it or change it. The choice is yours.
Much Love
