Holiday Greetings – and Thank You

Published by at 10:02 am under Ivan's Story

As many of you know, this has been a challenging year for me. My father died late last year. Then my mother died this past October. And just recently my wife badly broke her wrist, requiring surgery.

But I want to say that you, the entire Poetry Chaikhana community, have meant so much to me through it all. Your warm-hearted notes, your prayers and supportive thoughts, have touched me deeply. So I want to sincerely thank you, and wish you all a new year filled with joy, unexpected blessings, growth-producing challenges, renewed life, and new possibilities!

Please check out this beautiful ecard I am sending to you. I hope it inspires and brings a sense of peaceā€¦

And I especially love the words you included with your
Lawson Christmas card, from Thomas Merton, about when we cease questioning the sun, we then become light,
wind and all that is holy.

Thank you. And may your Christmas be serene and full
    of light. maryann

Thank you, Ivan for this beautiful card.
You never cease opening doors for me and I am most grateful. Merton is maybe my favorite writer/poet but this thought is new to me and I will share with my loved ones. I will pray for healing and peace in the upcoming year for you and your loved ones.
    Thank you,
    Carol

    Ivan,

I am so sorry to hear about the trials this past year held for you…I pray that courage, and strength, and grace will be yours in this new year.

Just remember: the sun keeps on rising, there is such a thing as “happily ever after”, resurrection will come.

Hold on to hope and walk on.

    With every good wish,
    Lorna
