Religion that does not inspire
outward compassion and inward awakening
is not religion.

My thought, which might be just a reaction, is that there is no outward compassion without inward awakening and there is no inward awakening without outward compassion.
Religion, which originally meant reverence for the sacred, has come to mean something quite different to many!
