The ocean of inner meaning is too vast
by Farid ud-Din AttarEnglish version by Vraje Abramian
Original Language Persian/Farsi
The ocean of inner meaning is too vast.
Thus, I have taken refuge in a ship of my imaginings.
I am bitterly frightened by this immense ocean
and find myself waiting at its shore.
Since I am so terrified of drowning,
I amuse myself with busyness here.
