Shawn Nevins was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. After leaving the area for graduate school in North Carolina, he spent the next decade in a spiritual search that led him from a Zen master in the wilds of West Virginia, to an iconoclastic Christian mystic in the heart of Los Angeles, and an architect-turned-sage in Nacton, England. His poetry is an attempt to share what he discovered in that search.

Poems by Shawn have appeared in "The Symposium," the "TAT Sampler I and II", the "TAT Forum", and the "Louisville Review". While waiting to make his fortune from poetry, he earns a living conducting educational programs for schools and the general public through Louisville Metro Parks.

  A lake reflecting trees,
  A simple gate of logs
  Come deeper with me
  Do not care for the names of things
  From far across the green hills,
  I AM
  Listen for the sound of no wind.
  The rooster crows in mid-morning,
  Words are cold this morning.
